On its 26th Day amidst the colourful and lively Dussehra festivities the Bharat Jodo Yatra marched on from Mysore towards the ancient temple town of Srirangapatna, Mandya District.
Shri Rahul Gandhi visited and offered prayers at the renowned St Philominas Church and the
Dargah in Mysore.
On his walk towards Srirangapatna Shri Rahul Gandhi interacted with Ayub Ahmed a resident of Mysore, Ayub is known as the Messiah of unclaimed bodies as he has been transporting and performing the last rites to unclaimed bodies for the last 18 years, specially during the disastrous Covid pandemic when he ensured last rites for more than 300 deceased. He also met Pa Mallesh a senior socialist leader along with 6 other civil society members, they collectively handed over a transcript on secularism and the duty of the state delivered by His Highness Shri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar. Mr Gandhi also interacted with Mangala a women auto driver who has been an inspiration to many young women towards becoming independent and self empowered.
Shri Rahul Gandhi ji then visited the Chamundeshwari temple and took the blessings of Chamundeshwari Devi during the auspicious festival of Dussehra
The padyatra walked 12 km in the morning session and stopped for a scrumptious lunch at the Parivartana School. The yatris enjoyed the local cuisine and got to taste the famous Mysore Pak.
The padyatra then continued ahead of schedule and marched towards Pandavapura covering further a distance of 10 Kms. On The occasion of Dussehra The Bharat Jodo Yatra will now take a well deserved rest for 2 days in Mysore and the yatris will get to experience the famous Mysuru Dussehra.
