Polling for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections will be held on Saturday. Voting will be held in 58 constituencies of eight states and there are 889 candidates including prominent leaders like Maneka Gandhi, Bansuri Swaraj and Manohar Lal Khattar. At the same time, Sonia Gandhi appealed to the candidates of ‘INDIA’ alliance to strengthen democracy against Prime Minister Modi in a video message.

Sonia appeals to vote for ‘India’ candidates to strengthen democracy
New Delhi: The country is gearing up for the sixth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Voting will be held on Saturday (May 25) for 58 constituencies in eight states, including the national capital Delhi (7). At this time, voting will also be held for 42 assembly constituencies of Odisha.
Voting will be held for 14 constituencies in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, 8 in West Bengal, 8 in Bihar, 7 in Delhi, 6 in Odisha, 4 in Jharkhand, and one in Jammu and Kashmir, and the election of 486 constituencies will be completed.
A fire test for candidates
Commission has made all preparations for polling in 8 states including Union Territory. A total of 11.13 crore people, including 5.84 crore male and 5.29 crore female voters, have taken the right to vote and will decide the political future of 889 candidates. 1.14 lakh polling booths have been constructed for free and fair elections, 11.4 lakh staff and 184 observers have been assigned for election duty. 20 special trains have been used to transport security personnel.
