Bengaluru: India has emerged as the world’s ‘world guru’ in the field of space by becoming the first nation in the world to land a lander on the South Pole of the Moon.
ISRO Chairman S. ‘India is on the moon,’ exulted Somnath at ISRO’s ‘Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network’ (ISTRAC) center in Peenya, Bengaluru.
Somnath, who studied at IISC, Bangalore, served as the first director of ISRO’s ‘Human Space Flight Centre’. It is also special to have acted in a Sanskrit film called ‘Yanam’.
ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 lander successfully landed in the Moon’s South Pole yard on Wednesday evening at 6.4 minutes. Along with this, India became the first country in the world to land a lander on the South Pole of the Moon and has emerged as a ‘world guru’ in the field of space.
