Bengaluru: 20 years ago, the government had promised the farmers that they would allot plots measuring 40×60′ for one acre and 30×40 for half an acre in the form of incentives to the farmers who had lost their land for the BMICP (KIDB) scheme.  This should be done immediately.  If not, the government will have to fight fiercely with the farmers who have lost their land for this project, warned the government of the Federation of Karnataka Organizations.

In several villages of Bangalore South and Bangalore North taluks, BMIC Roe Rs.  A land rate advisory committee meeting will be held under the chairmanship of District Collector, Bangalore District on Date: 22-08-2003 for the acquired lands.  It is decided to allot 40X60*52 plot per acre in inter-hand land near the land acquisition land to the farmers who have agreed to the contract rate decided in the Sara Sabhas and 30X401 53 plot per acre to the land owners of land within 1-20 gunte to 1-00 acre in the form of incentive.

After the first advisory committee meetings, the Nice company wrote a letter on 11.06.2004 and provided the information regarding the land owners of the villages and the land owners in which land of the project will be provided.  Also K.I.D.B.  Information about the location to the farmers also by the Special Land Acquisition Officers

B.M.I.C.  It has been almost 20 years since the farmers got the compensation fixed by the government for the lands acquired for the scheme.  About 2,000 plots will be allotted as incentives to the farmers who have lost their land under the scheme.  If you ask the guys from the company already, they say that they have not received permission from the government.  Farmers are not getting proper information and cooperation from the government.

Many of the senior farmers who have already given land have lost their parents as well as the main farmers.  It can be difficult when it comes to farmers, because the documents are held by the elders of the farmer’s family.  Realizing all this, the farmers have already sold the road in the lands that are land-acquired.

Even though the nice company has settled, it is not giving to the farmers, it is a lot of injustice to the farmers.  The company, which has been providing land to farmers for nearly 21 years, has left the road undeveloped.  Many years have passed since the plots were developed in the village of Varahasandra Madawara , but still no plot has been given.  Farmers wait like birds of prey for land Many farmers in Benue are old and anxiously waiting for land in their lifetime.

And the farmers who are not able to marry the daughters of the farmers and give higher education to the children are in trouble, since almost 20 years the farmers are waiting for the plot given by KIDB and Nice organization under the incentives.  The land that comes to the farmers will help them to build their livelihood.  Therefore, we on behalf of the ‘Karnataka Union of Organizations’ ) request the government to give justice to the farmers by taking a decision at the government level as soon as possible to allot plots in the form of incentives to the farmers who have lost their land for this project.  This request has already been sent to Honorable Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Ministers DK Shivakumar, Public Works Ministers Satish Jarakiholi, Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Former Chief Ministers HD Kumaraswamy and SJ Bommai, .  We have informed the chief executive officer of ADB and the chief secretary of public works in this regard through a petition.  Still the government is counting the trouble .  We have called this press conference to warn the government that as per the agreement given by the government, permission should be given to the NICE organization to immediately distribute the plots to the farmers who have lost their land for the BMICP project, otherwise the Federation of Karnataka Associations will have to take to the streets and fight fiercely with the farmers who have lost their form for this project.
