Meanwhile, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis met Eknath Shinde at his Mumbai residence on Tuesday. Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde have held talks, ending the ongoing crisis over the chief minister’s post in the Mahayuti alliance. After lengthy talks, Eknath Shinde has reportedly agreed to take oath as the deputy chief minister.

The BJP has confirmed that the new Chief Minister will take oath at 5 pm on December 5 at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other important leaders are expected to attend the event. Preparations for the oath-taking ceremony are already underway. Immediately after the oath-taking, the cabinet will be shared between the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP. With this, a grand alliance government comprising the BJP, Shinde faction’s Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP will come to power. In the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra, the BJP has won 132 seats, Shiv Sena 57 and NCP 41 seats.
