Best Minds from the Industry & Academia discuss emerging tech trends and challenges

Bengaluru  – A two-day National Conference on the emerging trends and challenges

in commerce and management was conducted recently by the AIMS Institutes

(www.theaims.ac.in), ranked as the 8th Best Business School in Bangalore*.

Inaugurating the conference, Chief Guest Prof Shrinivas C, Registrar (Evaluation), Bangalore University, spoke about the importance of such learning experiences while appreciating the contemporary sessions and innovative topics chosen for discussion during the conference.

More than 100 industry professionals, research scholars, faculty, and commerce & management students from various institutes across Karnataka participated, networked, and benefited from the thought-provoking sessions, panel discussions, and paper presentations.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr Philip Varughese, Global Head for Applied Intelligence,

Platforms, Engineering, & Architecture, DXC Technology, provided a multitude of practical insights on the impact of AI in our daily lives. Highlighting the pace of its adoption across industry verticals & job functions, he emphasized the importance of continuous upskilling and reskilling. 40 PhD scholars, professors, and students showcased their cutting edge research across four key tracks viz., accounting & taxation, banking & finance, general management, and entrepreneurship & sustainability. In total, 75 papers were presented of which the best ones will be selected and published in renowned academic journals.

An engrossing panel discussion on the impact of freebies on the Indian Economy enlivened the proceedings. Critical analysis and diverse perspectives from the expert panelists drew appreciation and sparked intellectual conversations amongst the audience.

Addressing the august gathering, Dr Kerron G Reddy, Founder & Principal of the AIMS Institutes, in her valedictory address, urged the participants to take cognizance of the importance of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) while doing their research work. “We are thrilled at the enthusiastic participation and the intellectually stimulating discussions that have taken place, which is likely to foster new partnerships and create new avenues for collaboration,” Dr Reddy said in her address.

A vibrant student fest called “Vanijya Darpan” marked the second day proceedings of the national conference, which equipped the participants with the know-how of the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies that would be handy in their research pursuit and professional endeavors.
