New Delhi : Maharashtra deputy chief minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar is expected to meet Union home minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday evening, a senior party leader said.
State NCP chief Sunil Tatkare, addressing media queries, dismissed reports suggesting Pawar was placed on a “waiting list” for the meeting. “No appointment had been sought,” Tatkare clarified. He added that Shah, currently in Chandigarh, may hold political discussions later in the day.
“There is no question of waiting (for an appointment),” Tatkare said, adding to the ongoing suspense over the state’s next chief minister.
