Nikhil showed the media that the serial number of the candidates pasted on the voting machine had been replaced

It was found that the serial number of the candidates affixed to the electronic voting machine was changed in polling booth 4 of Honganoor of Channapatna taluk.  JDS candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy went to the polling booth and expressed his objection.  Officials clarified that there was no confusion.  In this regard, he also drew attention to the option of filing an appeal.  Later, Nikhil showed a picture of the changed serial number to the reporters and said, ‘It was noticed that the serial number was changed in the voting machine around 8 am.  Local leaders also brought it to the attention of election officials.  Later I also went and inquired.  He said that a complaint will be filed in this regard after taking the advice of the party leaders. 

Voting in sub-war rush

Women and men are queuing up to cast their rights at the polling station of Chakkere village of Channapatna Assembly Constituency.
Bangalore, 13- Voting for the by-elections to Channapatna, Shiggavi and Sandur assembly constituencies in the state was largely peaceful today with voters casting their votes enthusiastically.

Voting in the by-elections of the three constituencies was largely peaceful, with around 100 per cent by mid-afternoon. 35 to 45 percent voting.
Voting in all the three constituencies was conducted in a frenzy and it was a common scene of voters eagerly reaching the polling booths early in the morning and voting in queues.

Polling in Channapatna, Sandur and Shiggavi was mostly peaceful and no untoward incidents were reported.
Channapatna, Shiggavi and Sandur assembly constituencies are in direct contest between the ruling Congress and the BJP-JDS alliance.

There was a fierce struggle for victory in these three constituencies, and three parties campaigned loudly.
Voting will be held in three assembly constituencies till 6 pm. It will be published on 23rd.

Voting for Shiggavi assembly constituency in Haveri district is going on briskly since morning. Voters in rural and urban areas eagerly arrived at the polling booths and stood in queues to cast their vote.

Polling in Channapatnam too was peaceful and polling took place in a frenzy. Even in Sandur, voters were queuing up early in the morning to claim their rights. Senior citizens also enthusiastically participated in voting and in some places elderly voters came to the polling booths in wheel chairs and cast their votes.

All arrangements have been made for voting in all the three constituencies and the Election Commission has made all arrangements for free and fair voting.

Care has been taken to ensure that voters do not face any difficulty in exercising their rights.

Tight security has been provided in these three constituencies of Channapatna, Shiggavi and Sandur, and strict vigilance has been taken to prevent any untoward incident.
In Shiggavi, a young woman came from America and voted.

Anusha, who resides in Texas, America, came to Shiggavi from America for voting and cast her vote in Shiggavi town along with her mother.
Sharing the joy of voting, he said, “Though I am in America, I have come to Shiga to vote.” Voting is everyone’s right. Say everyone should vote, it is our duty to elect a person with leadership. He said that if a good person is elected, the field will develop.

In Shiggavi, an old man named Tirukappa Chakapura, aged 80 years, was the first to cast his vote in polling station number 1 after offering prayers for the election of a good candidate.

Elite voting

Many dignitaries, including the candidates who have contested in this by-election, cast their votes early in the morning, Shiggavi Constituency BJP candidate Bharat Bommai along with his father former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai came to the polling booth to vote.

Bharat Bommai and Basavaraja Bommai stood in a queue to vote at the Government Model Kannada Boys’ School in Shiggavi town.

Annapurna, who is a Congress candidate in Sandur, along with her husband MP Tukaram cast her vote in the 67th polling station of Sandur town.

Channapatnam constituency Congress candidate C.P. Yogeshwar cast his vote at his hometown Chakkerey polling station in Channapatnam.
State Labor Minister Santosh Lad’s mother Shailaja S. in booth 67 of Sandur town. Lad and sister Sujata Lad also reached the polling station early in the morning and cast their votes.

In most of the polling booths of the three constituencies, voters have come in large numbers to exercise their rights and it is a common sight to vote in queues everywhere.

Election Commission has made webcasting system in many polling booths in three constituencies.

The polling staff helped the elderly who came to vote at the Shiggawi assembly constituency polling booth.
It was special that 85-year-old Gouramma arrived and cast her vote in a wheelchair with her relative at Chakkerey polling station in Channapatnam.

Before polling, Shiggavi’s Congress candidate Bharat Bommai along with his father visited the Jain temple near Gabburu Cross. Before this, father and son also offered special pooja at Maruti Temple in Ashoka Nagar, Hubli.

Yasir Pathan, the Congress candidate from Shiggavi constituency, also staked his claim. Former MLA Ajjampur Khadri cast his vote at Huluguru polling station.

JDS candidate from Channapatnam, Nikhil Kumaraswamy visited the historic Kengal Anjaneyaswamy temple and offered special pooja.

The fight for the by-elections of three constituencies was fierce and the ruling Congress, BJP-JDS fought an equal battle for victory, and the election results were interesting.

This is the vote count of the by-election held. It will be held on 23rd and the result will be announced on the same day.
