Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveils ambitious “Cavery Phase V Project”
Bangalore :Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday inaugurated the ambitious Cauvery fifth phase project to supply drinking water to 110 villages under the BBMP by pressing a button at the Bengaluru water board Purification Unit at Torekadanahalli in Malavalli taluk.
In the program presided over by MLA Narendraswamy, district in-charge minister Chaluvarayaswamy, energy minister KJ George, former ministers ST Somasekhar, Bairati Basavaraju, MLA S.R. Vishwanath, Assembly and Legislative Council MLAs like TM Nagaraju, Ravi, Dinesh Gooligowda, Sudam Das, Made Gowda, Nagaraj Yadav and many important people were present.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister dedicated water from the filled kodas to Mother Kaveri.
JAICA representatives, ministers, legislators, elected representatives, officials and many others were present on this occasion.
This project has been undertaken in partnership with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) at a cost of Rs 4336 crore.
To commemorate the dedication, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister planted saplings in the premises of the unit.
