Bengaluru -Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation serves as the lifeline of the people coming from all parts of the city and serving the transportation needs of the passengers by plying the routes to every monk and cranny of Bangalore. BMTC is moving forward by operating feeder lines as per the needs of commuters and devising innovative schemes to attract even private vehicle users to mass transit.
BMTC is consistently introducing Electric buses to its fleet since three years and in the current year, 921 Non-ac electric buses of M/s Tarza Motors Smart City Mobility Solutions Ltd. are going to join the Corporation fleet. In order to promote public transport services and also to curb increasing vehicular pollution in Bengaluru city, BMTC has taken several measures, wherein, the introduction of electric buses is one among them.
Hon’ble Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister and Murray Minister is going to flag off 100 non-ac electric buses of M Tata Motors Smart City Ltd. at first phase, today.
The salient features of electric buses are as follows
