Talking to the media representatives at the city’s airport on Thursday, he said, “National and state leaders have given me respect. I am not joining the BJP under any conditions. I am joining unconditionally. I will act as the party wants.”

After Vijayendra became the President, he said, “BS Yeddyurappa put forward a proposal in this regard. Several state MLAs and former MLAs also proposed about it. We joined the BJP following the request of grassroots activists and the response of national leaders.”

Former CM Jagdish Shettar has left the Congress and joined the BJP, so there will be no effect on our party, said Mines, Land Science Department and Horticulture and District In-charge Minister S. S. Mallikarjun said.
Speaking to reporters in the city on Thursday, he said, “When Shettar joined the Congress party, there was no change or benefit as claimed, now that he has joined the BJP, there is no effect on us. If there is an effect, why did Jagdish Shettar lose in the assembly elections?”, he questioned.
“Congress party has the power of workers. There are locks inside the house. Not about the party. Congress has its own votes. “Nothing is damaged,” he replied.
“BJP will not benefit much from the establishment of Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. We are also devotees of Rama. We worship. They will not go to the elections with the same idea. First people need food, shelter, education,” he asserted.
