GLOBAL LEADERS ATTEND THE OPENING OF ITEC INDIA 2019

Bengaluru : The largest conference on transportation electrification – iTEC India 2019 kicked off on Tuesday 17th December 2019 at Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru. The event opened with technical sessions on a variety of topics, inauguration session, plenary sessions, and Ride & Drive sessions.

The inauguration session featured Dr. Bala Bharadvaj, M.D., Boeing India Engineering & Technology Centre and President SAEIndia; Dr. Aravind Bharadwaj, CTO – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd.; Dr. David Schutt, CEO, SAEInternational U.S., Mr. Georges Zissis, President, IEEE IAS U.S.; Mr. Venkataraj K, Deputy Director, SAEIndia; Dr. Guenter Fraidl, Senior VP, Powertrain Systems, AVL Graz; and Mr. Girish Ramaswamy, Head of Engineering – Engine & Drivetrain Systems, Vitesco Technologies; and Prashanth Doreswamy, Managing Director – Continental Automotive, India; Rashmi Urdhwareshe, Director ARAI; Dr. Veeranna S.H., Managing Director, Karnataka Trade Promotion Organization

Dr. Bala Bharadvaj, M.D., Boeing India Engineering & Technology Centre and President SAEIndia says – Complexities give us the opportunity to innovate. From that perspective, iTEC India 2019 gives the opportunity to discuss the complexities and address the challenges in the eMobility landscape. The ‘eMobility’ that we know, also needs to be changed, we need to move towards ‘WeMobility’.

Girish Ramaswamy, Head of Engineering – Engine & Drivetrain Systems, Vitesco Technologies said, “Overall the inaugural session and the presentations from the industry stalwarts were well accepted by the audience. Over 400 delegates across various automotive organizations came for the event. The stalls which were put up witnessed enormous energy and technical discussions. I see it as a positive start to the event”

 

iTEC India 2019 is being organized collectively by SAEINDIA and IEEE IAS in association with knowledge partner ARAI. The three-day event, with its theme eMobility solutions for the community, aims at helping the industry in the transformation from conventional vehicles to advanced electrified vehicles. The aim behind the conference is not just have discussions about the upcoming technologies but also how to make these technologies affordable and available for communities.

iTEC is known for its participatory approach by creating a conference that involves components, systems, standards and grid interface technology which is associated with efficient power conversion of all types of electrified transportation such as EVs, HEVs, and PHEVs along with heavy-duty, rail, and off-road vehicles.
