New Delhi: Multiple rounds of security by 5 paramilitary forces, eagle eyes of NSG commandos, surveillance of dons, stipers around the Rashtrapati Bhavan… this is the security plan for Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony for the third time as Prime Minister on June 9.

Security has been increased in the national capital as leaders of SAARC countries have been invited for the oath-taking ceremony.  The way to and from the hotel where dignitaries stay to and from the place where the oath is taken is reserved for their traffic only.  Therefore, an alternative route has been planned for the increased traffic,’ said the officials.

While the top leaders of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Malmive, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius and Seychelles are participating in this event, Delhi’s Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Clard and Oberoi hotels have been reserved for dignitaries.  Officials said that security has been tightened here.

SWAT and NSG commandos of the Delhi Police will be at prominent locations around the Rashtrapati Bhavan.  In this regard, Delhi Police has already held several rounds of meetings and discussed security preparations for the June 9 event.

The oath taking ceremony will be held inside Rashtrapati Bhavan.  There will be three levels of security inside and outside the building.  Delhi Police personnel will be outside the building.  Officials said that there will be personnel of paramilitary force outside and internal security personnel of Rashtrapati Bhavan inside. 

total of 2,500 police personnel are being deployed.  Snappers and armed police will be on the route of dignitaries.  Doan surveillance will be done at important places.  In a way, the security that was done during the J20 summit held last year will still be there,’ said an official.
