NAGARJUNA AYURVEDA EXPANDS PRODUCT RANGE; LAUNCHES NEW PERSONAL CARE PRODUCT

To tap wellness market across India with new R&D initiatives

BENGALURU. With the market for wellness and holistic healthcare expanding rapidly in India, Kerala-based Nagarjuna Herbal Concentrates Ltd (NHCL), the flagship company of Nagarjuna Ayurveda, has undertaken business expansion plans with the introduction of new herbal-based products.

Apart from traditional Ayurvedic medicines, NHCL manufactures proprietary Ayurvedic medicines and over the counter (OTC) Ayurvedic and herbal products. The product portfolio consists of more than 570 unique products, providing head to heel healthcare and wellness solutions for a wide range of customers.

Commenting on the expansion plans, R. Ramesh Chandran, Vice-President, Nagarjuna Herbal Concentrates Ltd,said, “the wellness market in India is growing at a significant rate in the last 10 years, as the awareness among millennials to use herbal and Ayurveda products is growing. To cater to the growing demand from health-conscious consumers, we are launching a slew of new products, developed in-house. We are also strengthening our distribution network across to India to reach potential markets.”

Its portfolio of products includes specialty health care products, health supplements, herbal teas, single herbs, massage oils and specialty personal care products, including herbal bath
soaps. The company has its presence in 19 states. The distribution channel is well established to ensure proper and prompt delivery of products. The supply chain management operates
through 6 Area Business Offices spread across the country to cater the timely requirements of distribution services.
“As a part of our vision of providing global healthcare services, NHCL exports products to 28 countries. Our Quality Control Laboratory and the Research and Development Centre are approved by various government bodies like Department of Scientific and Industrial Research
(DSIR), Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals
(CPCSEA) and AYUSH,” Chandran pointed out.
To mark the occasion, Bengaluru-based celebrity Mayuri Shah launched a new personal care product mBODY. All the products are developed in-house through innovative research and development approach.
The R&D and Quality Control Division of Nagarjuna Ayurveda was started in1994 as a quality control laboratory and it eventually got upgraded in to a full-fledged research laboratory.
Nagarjuna Ayurveda created the trend of commercialising Ayurveda by setting up ISO certified labs for Ayurveda.
