L J Ravi NBF takes up food delivery drive to support the needy and marginalised In association with Suvarna News, JITO, Bhaskar’s Mane Holige, Gilgal Charitable trust and others Bengaluru, March 28, 2020: The Corona lockdown has affected the lives of homeless, unorganized sector workers like domestic helpers, ragpickers, rickshaw drivers, handcart pullers, single parent mothers, construction workers and urban poor the most. They are struggling to cope with daily food demands. Namma Bengaluru Foundation has extended a helping hand to support these needy. Presently, we have reached out to four slums – Amar jyothi slum, Domlur, Vyalikaval slum (near Chowdaiah Memorial Hall), Sanyasikunte slum in Hanumanthnagar (all put together close to 1430 people) and we will be adding 700 rag pickers from Hebbal (Kuntigrama) from tomorrow. There are many more communities in need of food. *We seek food donors and volunteers to come forward and help us reach more communities.
