The Department of External Affairs clarified on Friday that no request has been received from the US court to arrest Gautam Adani on bribery charges.  “Saraka has no role in the legal battle being waged by the US against Udyami Adani. It is a legal battle between private companies and the US Department of Justice. The case will be investigated according to the existing laws and established rules. The central government has no role,” said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.  There has been no information from the US about the arrest warrant issued against Adani.  There is no request for execution of arrest warrant.  There was no discussion at the level of the External Affairs Department.  If there is a request, it will be reviewed based on the merits of the case on the basis of mutual legal cooperation,” said Jaiswal.
