Bengaluru, December 19: The Indian Railways Department has planned to convert Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station into a world-class terminal. The department has proposed to give a high-tech touch to the Cantonment Railway Station at a cost of Rs 525 crore.
In the first phase, the Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station yard will be redesigned at a cost of Rs 45 crore. Through this, four additional platforms, two additional tracks will be constructed. Most of the trains under this scheme will operate through this station. The yard will be integrated with the Bangalore suburban rail network. Bore Bank Road has been proposed with the intention of not causing any trouble to the passengers. It has also decided to construct a pedestrian flyover in the middle of Netaji Road. The information is available that this redesign work will be completed by February 2023
