NLBC (NARAYANPUR LEFT BANK CANAL (NLBC) SYSTEM PROJECT (NEW) PROJECT IS PLANNED TO BE COMPLETED BY MARCH 2021

New Delhi. Targeted to irrigate 1,05,000 hectares on priority basis. ·        Central Assistance is Rs. 721.53 Crore while expenditure till December 2019 is Rs. 644.44 Crore. New Delhi: Replying to unstarred question by Mr. K.C. Ramamurthy, Minister of Jal Shakti in Department of Water Resources , River Development and Ganga rejuvenation Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria stated, during 2016-17, five ongoing projects of Karnataka including Narayanpur Left Bank Canal(NLBC) Project were prioritized under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana – Accelerated Irrigation Benefits Programme (PMKSY-AIBP) in consultation with the State for completion in phases. Funding mechanism through NABARD has been approved by the Government for both Central and State Share. Ultimate Irrigation Potential (UIP) of NLBC project is 1,05,000 ha.             Details of CA (Central Assistance) released and total expenditure incurred on this project during last three years and current year as per information received from Central Water Commission (CWC), are as under:                                                                           Year Central Assistance (Rs in Cr) Expenditure (Rs in Cr) 2016-17 – 314.46 2017-18 368.86 112.00 2018-19 197.00 92.30 2019-20 (Upto Dec, 2019) 155.67 125.68 Total 721.53 644.44
