SDPI OPPOSES RELIGIOUS ANTI CONVERSION BILL

Abdul Majeed Mysore (President), BR Bhaskar Prasad (Secretary General of State), Ramesh Kumar (Bangalore District Vice President) speaking to media at press club in Bengaluru.

Bengaluru; The BJP-led Karnataka state government is set to implement the impeachment at the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.  This Act is against the original intent of our Constitution.  This obedience is a clear violation of the religious freedom of the person referred to in Sections 25 to 28 of the Constitution.  Not only that, but it is also a tactic to entice religious minorities, both directly and indirectly, in an atmosphere of anxiety and fear.  There have been attacks on 39 synagogues in the entire state by 2021, including disruption to hierarchy in Hubli, Kodagu, Hassan, Mandya and many other parts of the state.  And even though the Hindu communal goons are responsible for such attacks, only the corrupt police system here is registering these Christians.  Muslims are also being sucked into the legal loopholes.  According to the People’s Union for Civil Liberties, a non-governmental organization has filed 13 cases of false cases against 13 Christians under the charge of conversion in 2021.  If the government converts dalits and announces 3 to 10 years of rigorous punishment, then the government’s efforts to nullify the dalits are worthless.  Despite the constant attacks on Dalits, racism and boycotts, this terrorist government, which does not go unnoticed, has put forth sentimental ideas and set out to enact an anti-constitutional conversion ban.  If the BJP tries to implement its Hindutva agenda through this act, it is evident that the Congress and the JDS are arguing against it only to hold their minority vote bank.  The government’s intellectual bankruptcy is the subject of a debate on the conversion ban bill, which has nothing to do with the lives of the general public, rather than the positive debate that the government is addressing in the State of the House addressing many issues, such as price rise, agrarian crisis, covariance.
