BY ELECTION FOR 3 CONSTITUENCES OF THE STATE AND JHARKHAND ELECTION TOMORROW- HOW IS THE PREPARATION ?

Bengaluru: Bye-elections to Channapatna, Sandur and Shiggavi assembly constituencies will be held on Wednesday. Voting will start at 7 am and voting will be allowed till 6 pm. Three political parties are vying to win the election in three constituencies and it is a prestigious election for the state leaders as well.

Family politics is prevailing in the by-elections of three constituencies. The presence of two former CMs’ children in the arena has made the arena colorful. In Channattana, former CM HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil is in the fray, while in Shiggavi, former CM Basavaraja Bommai’s son Bharat Bommai is in the fray. In this background, two former CMs are fighting to win the constituency. This is the politics of their children is in strong position.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Congress and its allies of politically benefiting from violence and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that the region has “been burning for decades” due to these issues. Addressing a public gathering in Chimur on Tuesday, the Prime Minister said, “Just a few weeks ago, we saw what happened in Jammu and Kashmir. This region has been suffering due to separatism and terrorism for decades. The law under which all this happened was Article 370, a legacy of Congress. As soon as we abolished it, we fully integrated Kashmir with India and its Constitution.”

Modi’s remarks were part of his campaign trail in Maharashtra, where the state is gearing up for the upcoming Assembly elections. With less than a week remaining until campaigning ends, the Prime Minister is set to address three public meetings on Tuesday in support of the MahaYuti alliance candidates.

The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is striving to regain power in the state. The alliance faces strong competition from the ruling Mahayuti coalition, which includes the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.

In the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the largest party with 105 seats, followed by Shiv Sena with 56 and Congress with 44. In the 2014 elections, the BJP secured 122 seats, Shiv Sena won 63, and Congress took 42 seats.
