BMTC wins Prestigious National & State Awards of Petroleum Conservation Research Association under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for Fuel savings by achieving higher Kilometre per litre (KMPL).

To encourage & motivate STUs drivers, maintenance staff & other depot personnel for Fuel savings by achieving higher Kilometre per litre (KMPL), Petroleum Conservation Research Association under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has launched a scheme to recognize the Best Depot/Depots in each STU at State level & Best STU at National level by way of awarding an Annual trophy/Cash award on performance parameter of “Maximum improvement in KMPL”.

Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation has made significant contribution in achieving higher KMPL, by taking required steps like giving continuous training to drivers on fuel efficiency skills, regular maintenance of buses, daily monitoring of KMPL performance of buses, counselling of low performing drivers etc.

BMTC has been awarded the prestigious 1st Best STU at National level in Saksham-2021 by Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel, GOI, Sri Dharmendra Pradhan to Smt.C.Shika, IAS, Managing Director, BMTC for Maximum improvement in KMPL by saving 24 crores in a year, with a cash prize of Rs.5,00,000/- (Five lakh) and a plaque on 16th January 2021 at Constitutional Club of India, New Delhi.

Further 3 depots of BMTC, Byrathi-Depot 48, Deepanjalinagar-Depot-16 & Kengeri-Depot 37, have been awarded the Best Depots at State level with a cash prize of Rs.50,000/- (Fifty thousand) each and a plaque which will be presented to BMTC online on 18th January 2021 at Indian Oil Bhavan, No.29, Kalingarao Road, Mission Road, Sampangiramanagara, Bengaluru. The award is likely to be given by Hon’ble Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, GOK, Sri Gopalaiah to Smt.C.Shika, IAS, Managing Director, BMTC.
