Central government has cut farmers’ money and handed them over to the clutches of moneylenders: CM Siddaramaiah outraged

Modi government’s prelude to decline in agricultural production in the state and the country: CM

Delhi, November 29: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his outrage, saying that since the central government has cut 58 percent of the NABARD money that was due to the state’s farmers, farmers will fall into the trap of moneylenders who give loans at high interest rates.

He spoke to the media at Karnataka Bhawan in Delhi.

He said that the reduction in the subsidized loans given to farmers will have a bad effect on food production in the state and the country.

The amount of NABARD loans has not been reduced only for the state’s farmers. Responding to a question from the media that it has been cut across the country, the CM said that this has put the farmers of the entire country in distress. He said that it will have a bad effect on the agricultural production of the entire country.

NABARD was giving farmers’ loans at an interest rate of 4.5%. We used to give interest-free loans to farmers and the government itself bore this 4.5% interest. Now the central government is asking them to take loans from nationalized commercial banks. Commercial banks give loans at an interest rate of 10%. This benefits the banks but does not benefit the farmers, he said.

The state was also wronged in the 15th Finance Commission. Rs 5000 crore was announced for the Bhadra Upper River Project and not a single paisa was given. Not even a single paisa was given for the Peripheral Ring Road. We have reminded the Prime Minister that due to all this, Rs 11000 crore was lost to the state. Therefore, this time we have again appealed to NABARD to correct the injustice done, he said.

State MPs are speechless: What is the son of the soil minister doing?

The state is being continuously wronged. Mahadayi, goat-fighting is not being allowed. Despite this, the BJP MPs elected from the state are not speaking out. What is Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, who thinks he is a son of the soil, doing. He questioned why former Prime Minister Deve Gowda, a member of the Rajya Sabha, is not speaking out against the injustices being done to the state.

Ministers K.J. George, Bairati Suresh, and Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Govindaraju were present.
