Bengaluru:The 20th Chitrasanthe is being organized in physical Mode.

In Association with Higher Education Department, Government of Karnataka.

Prof. M.S. Nanjunda Rao National Award and Chitrakala Samman Award Function.

H.K. Kejriwal Award, M. Aryamurthy Award, D. Devaraj Urs Award and Y. Subramanyaraju Award, Rs.50,000/- each in cash and citation will be presented to the awardees.

Besides, an National Award in the name of Prof. M.S. Nanjunda Rao, Founder Secretary of Chitrakala Parishath will be awarded with a cash award of Rs.1.00 lakh and a citation.

20th Edition of “Chitra Santhe” is being organized in collaboration with Higher Education Department, Government of Karnataka.

Inauguration: Sunday 8th January 2023at 10.30 am.

  • The 20thChitrasanthe will be held on Sunday, 8th January 2023 at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath premises, Kumara Krupa and Crescent Road.
  • The Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath is organizing physical Chitrasanthe event along with providing an online virtual gallery portal for artists to display their artworks.
  • More than 1500 Artists from all over the country would be participating in the Chitrasanthe event.
  • Throughout the day on Chitrasanthe event, there will be artistic-performances by Students of College of Fine Arts.
  • Special counters will be provided for senior citizen artists and specially-abled artists, inside the premises of Chitrakala Parishath.
  • State Bank of India will install two ATMs for online transactions of sales during Chitrasanthe, within the Parishath premises.
  • There will be mobile ATM facility by Canara Bank outside the Parishath premises.
  • Several sub- committees consisting of the teaching and non-teaching faculty of both the College and Parishath are formed to handle different responsibilities
  • Chitrasanthe event is being organized successfully uninterrupted, since 2003, due to unending support from the artists, curators, art lovers and Public in general.
  • Professional, amateur artists will be participating in 20th Chitrasanthe. All the Artists, irrespective of age, are allowed to exhibit their Art Work in the Chitra Santhe.
  • Chitrasanthe also facilitates dialogue, discourse, debate and artistic interaction. It attempts to bring in solidarity among art community.
  • Chitrasanthe is known as an Open-School for the new comers and upcoming artists.
  • The motto of Chitrasanthe, ‘An art work for each home’ is to make art reach out to the public, without the intervention of the middle-men.
  • The price of Art works at Chitrasanthe ranges from One Hundred Rupees to several Lakh rupees.
  • Parishath doesn’t take any commission on the sales of the artworks and the sale value goes to the respective artist directly.
  • Also, each of the 1300 artists participating in the 19th Chitrasanthe will get a stall, water facility, breakfast, lunch and dinner free of cost.
  • Around 400 (four hundred) artists arriving from outstation will be given free accommodation by the Parishath.
  • Around four lakh people are expected to visit Chitrasanthe in January 2023.
  • Mysore and Tanjore Traditional painting, Rajasthani, Madhubani style artworks, various other traditional, modern and contemporary artworks in various forms like water colour, oil, acrylic, pencil, ink drawings, fibre glass, plaster sculptures, prints, graphic media works and similar genres and styles will be available for viewing and sales during Chitrasanthe.
  • There will be artists who will create instant caricatures and realistic portraits at Chitrasanthe.
  • There is display of Cartoon Drawings by leading cartoonists.
  • The last Chitrasanthesales was around three crore rupees.
  • There will be credit and debit card payment facility for buyers.
  • The stalls will extend from Windsor Manor hotel till Shivananda Circle and part of Crescent Road.
  • CCTV cameras will be installed in all places of exhibition.
  • Every year Government of Karnataka is extending co-operation for Chitrasanthe. The police, B.B.M.P, BMTC, Fire department, Health Department and Higher Education and Tourism Departments have been supporting all these years.
  • The residents of Kumara Krupa Road, Crescent Road and surrounding areas are continuously extending their full cooperation for the event, for which Chitrakala Parishath is grateful to them. The residents of these areas are given Special Vehicle Passes for the day, to move around without any hassles.
  • The Faculty and students will form a team of Volunteers to help the artists and visiting public.
  • The vehicle parking for two, three and four wheelers are arranged at Bharath Sevadal premises, Crescent Road and Race Course Road.
  • Chitrakala Parishath has been preserving and protecting the art forms, both traditional and folk, since last sixty years.
  • Chitrasanthe is a major unique Art show in the country and Chitrakala Parishath is proud to host it.
