PEASE AUTO ORGANISATION PROTEST RAPIDO BIKES SERVICES

Bengaluru: Massive protests by drivers of Peace Auto Organization for prohibiting the illegal rapido bike services in the state of Karnataka. Drivers who drive will have a driving badge. These are allowed by law for passenger transportation. These vehicles also ensure passenger safety, exemption from tax rules and specific licenses for private vehicles. Therefore, the Act prohibits the use of private vehicles as commercial vehicles. At present, there are 1,20,000 auto rickshaws operating in Bangalore city, with over 10 lakh people servicing them. It is also the basic income of many auto drivers’ families. Rapido has had a devastating impact on the lives of many auto drivers. There is no guarantee of safety for travelers receiving the Rapido service. More than 1,000 Peace Auto drivers have protested that Rapido bikes should be banned for the sake of passenger safety.
